Independent engagement terms.
These baseline terms apply only when a separate written scope, quote, or agreement does not replace them.
Written scope
The controlling record names the outcome, authorized sources, deliverables, exclusions, reviewer, target date, fee, and change process. Work outside that record requires written approval.
Source authority
The client identifies which files, markups, decisions, and standards control. Conflicting or unsupported instructions are documented and returned for decision rather than silently resolved.
Review and release
Drafts remain review material until accepted by the named authority. Licensed professional decisions, seals, code compliance, and final release remain with the responsible professional unless a separate agreement states otherwise.
Confidentiality and IP
Client materials remain client materials. Employer materials are not used in outside work. CAD Guardian retains reusable, independently developed methods while protecting project-specific confidential information.
Security and access
Only necessary access should be granted. Credentials should not be emailed. Access, working copies, exports, and duplicates are reviewed and reduced at closeout.
Changes and pauses
A missing decision, unavailable source, security concern, conflict, or unauthorized scope may pause work. Schedule effects are documented at the next checkpoint.
Commercial record
Fees, invoicing, payment timing, expenses, and cancellation terms are established in the written scope or invoice. No public price implies availability or acceptance.
